STUDENTS TO CONVERGE FOR UDOM EMMANUEL

As the race for the Governorship /State Assembly elections slated for Saturday, 11 April hots up, the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and its candidate, Mr. Udom Emmanuel seems to be in a pole position ahead of candidates of other political parties. Having garnered endorsements and support from relevant groups, individuals and organisations
across all nooks and crannies of the State, we can authoritatively report that the organised students movement has concluded arrangements to stage a mother of all rallies to consolidate their support for Mr. Udom Emmanuel of the PDP.
This was revealed in a media statement issued in Uyo over the weekend and endorsed on behalf of Akwa Ibom students movement by Comrade Mfon Umoh, President, National Association of Akwa Ibom State Students (NAAKISS) and Chairperson, central planning committee of the Rally. According to the student activist who also doubles as the Chairman of Supreme Council of NAAKISS Worldwide Chapter Presidents, "though we have at various fora found time to endorse the candidature of Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the Mother of all Rallies is planned to consolidate on our support for PDP and all her candidates, while also sending a message to the world of what to expect on Saturday at the polls", adding that "our support for Udom Emmanuel is in appreciation of Governor Akpabio's efforts to develop our state and I recognition of Udom's pedigree as a tested financial management expert and corporate technocrat who would consolidate on the gains of the development on ground"
Elsewhere in the statement, the NAAKISS president who is also a member of PDP central campaign council in the State added that "prominent student leaders shall address the Rally which is expected to be graced by Mr.Udom Emmanuel and his running mate, Moses Ekpo, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, Director General of the campaign council and other ranking state and party officials.
The statement therefore invites student leaders to mobilize their members en masse for the Rally slated to hold on Wednesday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
