MEMOIRS (TRAVAILS) OF A SINGLE GIRL- EMEM HANSON

Travelling from Calabar to Uyo,I met this guy(Henry)inside the bus and we got talking about the bad states of the road.
and how many hours we got to spend on the road, just for a 45mins journey. We disembarked at the park and we left for our different destinations.
Two weeks later I  bumped into him in one of the eateries and this time around we exchanged phone numbers. We got talking on the phone for a couple of weeks.
Henry was really fun to be with,we hung out after close of work,
we went to the movies,we also loved watching football together.
One day Henry asked me to come to his house, it didn't just go down well with me so I declined for 2 months he kept asking and I remained evasive.
I was waiting for a cab after work one evening and it was threatening to rain seriously. While I was waiting Henry drove past and had to go turn back. I actually thought he didn't see me.
He told me he was going towards my area for a meeting with a client but he has to pick up a file at home and drop the foodstuff he had in his boot. Since I was avoiding the rain I had no choice.
When we got to his house,I helped out by carrying some of the stuff he bought,I was right behind him. While he was trying to open the door,I noticed he did not turn the keys, unknown to him his girlfriend
had come to take shelter from the rain.
I asked innocently, what was wrong and he said my girlfriend is inside. The way I ran, my leg was touching my head. I didn't care about the rain anymore, I ran under the rain not minding the lightening and thunder.
Henry called me for 2 good weeks and I refused picking his calls. Well after sometime we got talking but I never met the girl again, though he was still seeing her.
Now Henry did everything to make me say yes to him, in which I almost fell for his antics, but something kept telling me to hold back a bit. I tried everything in my power to make him stop seeing the other girl,at some point he said the girl was forcing herself on him.
I honestly don't know if it was true or not. At some point I found out he was also involved with a couple of babes. I knew that was an issue I could not cope with.
Well 2 weeks ago I saw his wedding invite, and he was getting married to the girl I bumped into. Though the guy had knocked her up(pregnant).
They got married last week and I don't envy her at all but I learnt a great lesson.
