NDITO-EKA,
To run could mean to
"take-off", or flee! For avoidance of doubt, what I mean is that UOU
should CONTEST the 2015 elections for the office of the Governor of AKS come
2015!
This will come as not surprising to
some, and a rude shock to many more.
It is not in doubt that I am
favorably disposed to ESD, and that they have my sympathy and sentiment, the
fact is that my commitment has ALWAYS been to the Akwa Ibom Project. That not
withstanding, my vote is still reserved for EXCELLENCE
The future of the state will depend
on the QUALITY of LEADERSHIP that we can bring on come 2015. The process of
getting the best is never served on a platter of gold but through often
rigorous and painstaking processes.
Some days back, I started the process
of propounding some theories and proffering solutions that I considered
imperative in the process of evolving a dynamic and sustainable governance
system and structure for our dear state which could be ultimately emulated by
other states to bring about the Nigeria of our dreams.
One of them, which is still being
fine-tuned was the Rotation Principle for fairness and Equity. This will be one
reason that will get some people confused that I am now 'backing' UOU to
contest.
The other theory, or concept, is that
of the SHADOW RACER. In brief, to get the best of an Olympics or major
international Long Distance Race, there are 'competitors' usually known as PACE
SETTERS. To keep the quality of the race, the first step is usually to have
Qualifying Times that each contestant should have achieved. Next is the Pace
Setters. The tendency is usually to expect that energy should be conserved for
the FINAL LAPS.
The danger in this is usually in
producing a winner with a winning time that is absolutely nothing to write home
about. A solution came by way of the Pace Setters. These people usually have
minimal time that should be returned per lap or distance so that the final only
helps to meet, get as close to the last record, or even BREAK the last, and the
ultimate joy of the competition is usually in the SETTING OF NEW RECORDS!!!
They are usually NOT among the REAL CONTESTANTS which is why the drop off from
time to time (I'm sure you usually notice them)
That said, I wanted to set up a Club
of Shadow Racers (our equivalent of Pace Setters)
As against my concept of Shadow
Racers that would operate on the Virtual World, UOU will be a Pace Setter in
the real world. He will be Mr "Beat-Me-If-You-Can".
He will be that man that will get ESD
huffing and puffing, going back into their inner chambers and contacting their
'oracles'. Scratching their heads and putting away s entiments. Jettisoning
petty squabbles and folding their sleeves, knowing that "this is serious
business"
UOU will be the new high jump bar. A
real "threat" and contestant, and not imaginary.
Until the appointment of the new SSG,
how many paraded the intimidating credentials of that 'bad' guy? Many more,
trust me, many more of his ilk abound in ESD with sterling qualities that will
make AKS the talk of the 2015 dispensation.
This is more than "My Turn"
talk, this is SERIOUS BUSINESS.
How did my brother Udom Gabriel
Emmanuel (UGE), emerge? Had there been no misunderstanding over the firing or
resignation, or whatever of UOU from the office of the SSG, had UOU not paraded
'intimidating' credentials, had it been just calm and arranged, isn't it
possible that maybe, just maybe one double left legged half current so-called
'politician' would have been sent to that office to compound our woes? Isn't it
just possible?
However, today, all things are
working out together for our good! Today, we have a man in that office that is
fit, and i dare say, will be a disappointment to his generation if he leaves
the affairs of that office and gets entangled with the political terrain and
subsequently allow selfish politicians to bring down in the twinkling of an
eye, what he has spent a lifetime to build.
That said, it cannot be contested
that a square peg has been put in a square hole as concerning the office of the
SSG through a crises that threatened to consume the state.
Let us borrow a leaf and apply the
'competition' lesson, or spirit, to get for us, a SUPER CANDIDATE FROM
ESD THAT CAN BEAT UOU for the 2015 race in our state.
Last line:
The call to leadership is a call to
responsibility and public service. Any man that will want to get it BY ALL
MEANS, and AT ALL COST is not fit to be a LEADER. A true leader will not depend
on any cult boys, intimidation, nor money power to get an office, but on
superior argument and clean strategy to win. Call it politics but trust me, if
you have a conscience, you will know what you will not take, and consequently,
should not give. This warning goes to ALL sides.
In Olympics 100m race, Team USA is
never there to ROB Team Naija of the gold, Team Naija just know that they are
going there to face the mighty USA!!! and consequently organize meets to get
out their VERY BEST athletes.
ESD, UOU is at the door! Look in and
either resign, or smile as you pull out (- - -) that will make UOU raise the
white flag.
While the MASK will say "let the
hostilities begin!", I will rather say, "turn on the music of
brotherhood and let the competition begin"
ESD, please TALK TO ME, and put a
broad smile on my face with a MAN, or even MEN that are 'up to par' Spirit,
Soul, and Body, for:
YES YOU CAN!!!
