Five NANS Officials Killed in Auto Crash

A fact-finding mission of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, ended in a tragedy Thursday as five members of the team lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident at Umudike on the Umuahia- Ikot Ekpene road.

The victims were identified as Senate president of NANS, Donald Onukaogu, who was a student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Assah Ejeita (FEDPOLY-Nekede), Duru Jacobs, who was the assistant national secretary of NANS, Zone B and another one simply identified as Japhet. The identity of the fifth person could not be ascertained as at press time.

Eye witnesses said the students died when a truck, which lost control while trying to avoid a pothole on the road, rammed into the bus conveying them to Uyo.

Saintprince International gathered that the NANS delegation was heading to Uyo to parley with the authorities over the closure of the University of Uyo following a student protest that claimed the lives of a number of students.

At the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, where the bodies of the victims were conveyed to by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), sources said 12 persons were brought to the hospital out of which five were brought in dead. Others were in a critical condition while only a student came out of the accident without any injury.

It was further gathered that the NANS delegation had commenced their journey from Abuja on Wednesday and stopped over (FUTO) before resuming their journey Thursday.

Scores of sympathisers, including students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) and passersby, who thronged the FMC, wept profusely as the bodies were being conveyed to the morgue.

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, who visited the FMC to assess the situation, consoled NANS over the death of its officials.

Colonialism .... the other side of the coin

The British have been foraging into Yoruba-land as far back as the late 18th century. And talking about British indirect rule, this didn't occur until the latest part of the 19th century after the Yoruba Kirija war of 1877-1893. Colonization was the only solution that was going to save Africa from our tyrannical system of government, and evil customs. As far back at 1880, Ijesha people were famously called "Ounje Orisha", 'foods of the gods" and were usually sacrificed when any blood sacrifices were required, this among hundreds of insane culture that both Islam and Christainity weeded away.

Yorubas alone fought over 100 different wars among themselves within the span of 1800-1900! Have you read about King Kosoko and Adeyemi? And about the British Royal Navy's move in impeaching Adeyemi because he was too busy selling his own people for peanuts to those French, Portuguese, and Spaniards? Slave hunting became the reason for conquests and war, and people were sold for half a bag of cowries, and equivalent of 10 silvers as far back then.

You keep wondering why you find Yoruba people all over Jamaica, Serial Leone, Haiti, and the Bahamas, Argentina among other places? It was [not] because the white hated us, it was because we hated one another and have so much madness in our heart that only civilization could cure. Colonization was the reason we still have a race----if it wasn't for what these Oyinbo brought, who brought: Islam, Christianity, Civilization, and Commerce, I'm sure by now, we would still be killing one anothers on daily basis. The Oyinbos were never our enemies....they were our greatest benefactors!

How to become a Nigerian Pastor

Being a Nigerian pastor is easy. If this were a book, it will probably be a best-seller because of the spate at which churches spring up at the slightest opportunity in Nigeria. Opportunities are vast and since Nigerians need something to believe in, this “trade” will always sell…. At least, till Jesus comes!

The following are steps to follow to be a Nigerian pastor. If these steps are followed religiously, you will not only become rich, you will become extremely powerful. You will be worshiped, adored and people will fall over themselves to get your attention. Politicians will fall on their knees and beg you to lay hands on them! Yes! You will be that powerful.

1. It doesn’t matter what you were or used to be, it doesn’t matter that you used to be an armed robber, an advance fee fraud expert, a cult lord, a drug pusher or even a Molester. The fact that you used to have an evil past is a big testimony on its own. The worse your past, the more people will believe in the new you. It’s just the Nigerian thing. We love them complicated.

2. Gather a small crowd of people. No matter how small, tell them how you went to bed the previous night and a white-clothed figure appeared to you in a vision and “called you”. Tell them you are ready to take up this clarion call. Get a big fat shiny new bible and a cassock if possible, look as calm as you can and smile at any opportunity, they will believe you. As long as no one can get the call history of how “God called you”, no one cares. They just assume he did. Again, it’s the Nigerian way of reasoning.

3. The third step is very important. Naming your church. Most pastors don’t know this, but like the caption of books and movies, the name of a church is everything. Look for a very catchy name; something that people will love to describe themselves with once they become members. Take for instance; “Oluwa Is Involved Holy Ghost Penticostal Fire Brand Ministries”…. Nice huh? Your members can call themselves “Fire Branders”. This will be printed on all merchandise from t-shirts to holy water to holy oils and sometimes, holy handkerchiefs. They won’t be really holy but well…. What’s a company without advertisement?

4. Next is building a church. Mr pastor-in-embryo, this is very very very important! You have to be very technical and innovative about this. Two vital questions are involved in building a church. They are;

i. What kind of church do you want to build? Is it a church for the rich ones or the struggling ones? (Before you say rich, money and power will come in from either ways)

ii. Do you have the funds to build a church in your area of choice? If no, how do you hope to get the funds?

Suggestions;

i. Building a church either in a rich or poor man’s environment both has its basic advantages and disadvantages. If you are thinking the rich man’s zone, then be prepared to out-do numerous competitors. It is also very capital intensive. You need an eye-popping edifice. Fully air-conditioned , comfy pews, etc. A lot of pastors-in-embryos are also thinking like you. So for you to succeed in that zone, you have to be extra-innovative. You need a basic know-how of being a Behind-queens-english-speaking kind of pastor. If you can perform a few tricks and call them miracles, voila! You stand a better chance of hitting gold and out-doing your numerous competitors.

However, if you are thinking the struggling zone, this isn’t too capital intensive, you can start from a shop, or open space or even in the one-bedroom apartment which you presently reside somewhere around Anua, Itiam, or Itam for those in Uyo metropolis in Akwa Ibom, for those in Port Harcourt; Romoula, Choba etc, Lagos environs; Ojota, Ijora. All you need for a start is at least two very loud speakers, a drum-set and a fairly used piano. No matter how small your church is, you need more members who need to contribute so you move to your “permanent site”. So your loud speakers must be blaring at all times.

ii. Getting funding to start a church is important for your hustle. It’s easy. Gather a group of rich men you may know. You may think of it as a sort of consortium. Lay down your business plan and tell them how and when they will get returns on their investment. Bear in mind that these people can’t be deceived. They actually don’t care about you or even God so don’t appeal to their spiritual side because they have none. Appeal to their self-interest and I assure you that in no time, your funding will be ready. Congrats.

5. The next step is choosing your title. Being referred to as “Pastor” isn’t just good enough. Look for something bigger and more respectable like “Senior Reverend, High Bishop, Cardinal. Or even Pope. Add “Daddy or Papa” at the end of your name. Members can call you Cardinal Yabiswacko, Daddy or papa for short. Your wife must also be a Bishop and known as Mummy for short.

6. Now that your church is almost ready to take off, you need advertisement. Call on a few media houses and organize a large crusade. If your specialty is in the struggling zone, Call it something like; “Operation Your Village Witches Must Die”. Appear on television if you can. Scream and sweat profusely while on air. Let your prospective members know you mean business. Look very fiery like you can actually confront their respective village witches and move your mouth like you are speaking in tongues. On the day of the crusade, you will be amazed at the turn out. You may call it “the Lord’s doing” if you like. Some will leave after the crusade but those that stay back will form your first set of members. You can grow from there.

7. By now the church is set and has taken off, plan the organogram very well. Members of the consortium who funded the building of the church will be the “board of trustees” or “church council”. Your most trusted friend or even your wife MUST be the church treasurer. You can’t afford to trust the church funds with a stranger. This is business and should be handled with serious seriousness. Next you make a very handsome dude the choirmaster. That way pretty ladies will join the choir. You make an ex-officer or policeman the head of ushers. That way there will be orderliness. The others can take care of themselves.

8. Income: money is important and even the bible confirms same. Tithing is important so make sure 80% of your congregation are tithers. It is none of your business what business members of your congregation do as long as they pay their tithe. This people sometimes try to be smart and try to cheat god (which is you) by not declaring what they earned so you can deduct your 10%. Blackmail them. Tell them how they will spend eternity in hell for trying to cheat god. You must also be creative. Spin some success stories of people who paid god in the past and have been living happily ever after. Also tell them of people who tried to cheat god in the past and met a very terrible, brutal end. Also, collect as many offerings in a Sunday as possible. As usual, be innovative and give these offerings names such as “welfare offering” “widows offering” “missionary offering” “pastor’s welfare offering” etc. In the end, watch your ministry rise with financial power. Also, never let any opportunity pass without you taking an offering. Be it naming ceremonies, burial, baby dedication, car dedication or even okada and keke maruwa dedication.

9. Now that your ministry is growing in numbers and financial strength, the time to repay your debtors has come. Pay them off as quickly as possible. Don’t let them truncate your hustle with them hassling you for debt. Pay them off, then count your blessings. Bring up new laws in your church. Claim you saw these instructions in a vision from heaven and they must be followed to the letter or they won’t be allowed to enter the kingdom of God;

* No more inter-church marriages. Everyone must marry from within your church.

* Every family must seek spiritual guidance before doing any business, when they have dispute and permission before they Be Intimate at home.

* No single man must approach a single woman directly, he must come to you and then you will in turn “consult with god” if they will go well together. (If the single lady is pretty and you have eyes on her, she is a no-go area of course. Tell the single man that heaven denied the transaction. He must accept his fate and look for a less good-looking woman)

* Call families randomly and tell them “thus saith the lord; that place you want to go today is dangerous. Don’t go!” Of course everyone has a place he or she should be. You will be respected and seen as the man who god talks to.

* Declare that henceforth it is a sin for anyone to remain on his feet when talking to you. They have to always be on their knees while you “lay hands” on them.

* Tell the unemployed ones to add “Spiritual son or daughter of Cardinal Yabiswacko” in their CV when looking for jobs. Tell the employed ones it is now a grave sin to employ a member of another church for a position that a member of your church is interested in. No matter how highly unqualified the latter must be.

10. Always stay on the side of the government and the authorities. The possibilities are limitless! So to achieve this, always tell your congregation never to criticize the government, tell them to always pray for the government no matter how poorly it treats them. Declare fasting and prayers when, for instance, the president’s wife is down with food poisoning after feeding on, say, three million naira a day. All this will turn attention your way and just hopefully you may one day become the chaplain of Aso Rock or even a certain president’s personal pastor!

11. Now that you are a big pastor, buy state of the art cars. Build yourself the kind of mansion that is waiting for you in heaven here on earth. Whenever you go out, drive on a convoy, buy yourself a private jet or two if possible because you will be needed in every part of the world and you won’t have that time to flock with mere humans who rush daily to the airports to board commercial airlines. You are a demi god and you must always carry yourself like that. Money, power and invincibility.

12. You need your congregation to always listen to you. Always be in your power and under your Mighty feet. So, as much as possible, don’t ever preach about any other thing except prosperity and winning the war against the witches and wizards in the villages. If, for instance, as the pastor, you have an opportunity to feed 5,000 people like Jesus did in the bible, don’t! You can’t afford to have your congregation so well fed for they might no longer listen to you. Simply eat a part of the bread and fish and tell them how it was sent from above. Sell it to them one after the other and see your finances rise. Don’t ever feed them! Don’t ever care about them too much! You are the god and they are your creation.

These rules have worked for many a Nigerian pastor. They may take a while to come to fruition – what lucrative venture doesn’t anyway? – but they have never failed!

I wish you all the patience and goodluck in your hustle.

Governor Akpabio appoints 10 new permanent secretaries

Governor Godswill Akpabio has tasked Akwa Ibom Civil Service Commission to evenly recruit officers into the civil service to avoid overloading some local government areas with staff to facilitate in the appointment of new permanent secretaries.

Chief Akpabio who stated this Wednesday after swearing into office 10 new permanent secretaries at the new Governor's Office, Uyo, decried a situation where some local government areas in the state could have more than 10 qualified persons to be appointed as permanent secretaries, others do not have even one qualified person.

''We had a problem in some local government areas because we could not find person in the civil service at the rank of a Director to be appointed as a permanent secretary. So, we had to go to State Secondary Education Board, Local Government Service Commission and the State Universal Education Board to look for very senior staff to appoint into the position to ensure fairness, justice and equity'', he explained.

The Governor charged ''I want the state civil service commission to evenly spread recruitment of persons from all the local government areas into the state civil service to avoid overloading some areas with more staff. I want you to encourage Akwa Ibom people to show interest by joining the civil service because government has to be an inclusive thing''.

Akpabio, however, noted ''Let me pay special tribute to the retired Permanent Secretaries whose replacements we have just sworn in. That you rose to the peak of your career in the civil service attest to your diligence, hard work and love for your State. Let me proclaim here that the wheels of Uncommon Transformation revolved around you. And so when you look around and see the many changes that now adorn the state, find fulfillment in the fact that you were a part of it. In fact, thumb your chest and say “I did it.

''I perform today’s function with mixed feelings. Sad that some of our dependable Permanent Secretaries, whose untiring toils oiled the wheels of our Uncommon Transformation have retired. But happy that we have a pool of competent manpower to facilitate replacement and avert a vacuum. The passage of time is a reality of existence and it impels the old to give way to the new. As living creatures, we are all victims of time. This is why there is a time to join the civil service and a time to retire'', the Governor said.

''Let me congratulate the new permanent secretaries that have just been sworn in. The position of permanent secretary is the apex of the civil service career. It is a high office that comes with huge responsibilities. It requires the occupant to be discerning and armed with discretion as he/she is the accounting officer of the ministry, parastatal or agency. The work of the permanent secretary is therefore not a tea party. It is a serious and demanding engagement especially in this period of our unbridled commitment to transform the sstate. As a familiar saying notes, “to whom much is given, much is expected”, Akpabio charged.

According to him, ''I have no shred of doubt about your competences. As career civil servants, who have undergone rudimentary orientation over the years, your grasp of the dynamics of the civil service shall be of great benefits and value to this Administration. As you are aware, the administration has set for itself the ambitious agenda of changing the State from a pedestrian status to that of compelling destination. The quantum of conferences, seminars and workshops that have been held in the State in recent times serve as evidence that we are almost there. But we cannot rest on our oars. We must continue to work to translate this dream into robust reality. That is why we have brought you on board to fill the gap of those that have retired. We have done this so that the work can go on unhindered. We have done this so that the development revolution in our State would continue uninterrupted.

''Your appointments as permanent secretaries at this phase of the history of our State should be viewed as a beckoning opportunity for you to be part of a legacy that would outlive us while continuing to serve as a benchmark in good governance. You must therefore urgently internalise our work ethics of dispatch, prudence and total commitment to service delivery. These are the key values that have distinguished us and given this administration distinction.

''Let me once again congratulate all of you for working hard to merit these appointments. I charge you to see your new office as opportunity to rededicate yourselves to the service of the State and humanity'', he added.

Those sworn in included Dr. Ifreke Ekpa, immediate past Head of Essien Udim Local Government Service; Dr. Idio Okure Akpabio, former Medical Superintendent, Hospital Management Board; Elder Ephraim Jimmy Oton, former Deputy Director, State Secondary Education Board; Marcus Edwin Enene, former Principal-General, QIC Senior Science College, Ndon Eyo; Mr. Israel Samuel Udofa, former Director, Computer Service, Local Government Service Commission.

Others were Dr. Ekong Jimmy Effiong, former Director of Education, State Technical Secondary Board; Mrs. Eno David Sampson, former Director of Administration, Ministry of Finance; Offiong E. Eduongo, former acting Director of Accounts, Office of the Accountant-General; Nkereuwem H. Enyenihi, former Director of Administration, Offfice of the Head of Civil Service while Effiong Charles Udo, immediate past Secretary, Agricultural Loans Board is to serve as acting Permanent Secretary.

US places $7m Bounty On Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau

The US authorities have declared Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah il-Da’awati wal-Jihad, better known as Boko Haram, a wanted man.

And they are placing a $7 million bet he will be found, to be given away to anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest.

Analysts say the placement of large sum of money as bounty by the United States government reflects a new dimension to US government involvement to hunt down Mr. Shekau and his close aides, and of Shekau’s connections.

The US seems confident it can narrow the corridors of safety for Shekau, as many international bounty hunters can activate their networks in other to collect the bounty.

Below is the flyer that is being distributed by the US Reward for Justice website:

Wanted Information leading to the location of Abubakar Shekau Up to $7 Million Reward ________________________________________

Boko Haram, which means “Western education is forbidden,” is a Nigeria-based terrorist organization that seeks to overthrow the current Nigerian government and replace it with a regime based on Islamic law. The group has existed in various forms since the late 1990s. There are reported communications, training, and weapons links between Boko Haram, al-Qaida in the Lands of the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), al-Shabaab, and al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, which may strengthen Boko Haram’s capacity to conduct terrorist attacks. Shekau was previously the group’s second-in-command. In July 2010, Shekau publicly claimed leadership of Boko Haram and threatened to attack Western interests in Nigeria. Later that month, Shekau issued a second statement expressing solidarity with al-Qaida and threatening the United States. Under Shekau’s leadership, Boko Haram’s operational capabilities have grown. The group set off its first vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) in June 2011, and has increasingly utilized IEDs in attacks against soft targets. Boko Haram’s August 26, 2011 vehicle-bomb attack on the United Nations headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria marked the group’s first lethal operation against Western interests. At least 23 people were killed, and 80 more were injured, in the attack. A purported Boko Haram spokesman claimed responsibility for the attack and promised future targeting of U.S. and Nigerian government interests. On May 1, 2012, less than one week after the group bombed a Nigerian newspaper building in Abuja, Boko Haram issued a video statement threatening more attacks on local and international news outlets, including the Voice of America and Sahara Reporters, a New York-based media service. On June 21, 2012, the U.S. Department of State designated Shekau a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Executive Order 13224.

Cross River Deputy Governor Commands Wife To Kneel Down & Apologize

Mr Efiok Cobham, the Cross River State deputy governor startled his household recently when he commanded his wife, Glory to kneel down and apologize to his protocol officer, Asikpo Okon for allegedly claiming that the protocol officer was in the habit of arranging girls for his boss.

A reliable source said Efiok’s wife and Asikpo have been having running battles since 2011 when, the erstwhile Cross River Broadcasting Cooperation, CRBC correspondent who was covering the government house was said to be having a relationship with the deputy governor.”Oga was very angry with his wife when she confronted Asikpo over the relationship between him and the CRBC girl that is covering his office”.

Our source said Asikpo who is a relative of Efiok had immediately gone to tell his boss his wife’s claim that he was now arranging the CRBC girl for him and the deputy governor angrily called on the wife and commanded her to kneel down and apologize to Asikpo or kiss the marriage goodbye “Madam felt bitterly humiliated but she had no choice than to kneel down and apologize instead of ending the marriage because she saw the anger and seriousness on oga’s face”.

Glory who has since the second coming of Efiok as deputy governor, been keeping low profile even when her husband was made Acting Governor following his principal’s sojourn in the United States for four months, has been loudly complaining to her friends and relatives that she and her husband have not been having the best of times.

According to sources, the woman has for some time been suspecting the husband of betraying their marital vows by frolicking with ladies and some of his female media aides during his frequent travels and she claims “That Asikpo who knew the difficult times she and Efiok were going through before 1999 and yet she stuck with the man could stab her in the back by arranging ladies for her husband”.

Northerngovs forum:Plot to sack Aliyu thickens

There are strong indications that the governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, may soon become another casualty of the ongoing battle for the soul of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.

Our correspondent gathered in Abuja on Sunday that there were moves to unseat him as Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors Forum.

A reliable source confided in our correspondent that the plot bore the stamp of the Presidency and the ruling People’s Democratic Party.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, said, “There is a plot to remove Dr. Aliyu as the chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum if he does not recognise Governor Jonah Jang as the Chairman of the forum.

“Governors Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Ibrahim Shema (Katsina) and Gabriel Suswam (Benue) are the arrow heads of the plot.”

A meeting of northern governors has been scheduled to hold on Thursday.

Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor, Dr. Cletus Akwaya, however, dismissed the allegations made against his principal.

He said, “I can only speak for my Governor. My principal, His Excellency Governor Gabriel Suswam, as you are aware is not in the country.

“My governor left for Japan with the Vice President on May 29th and is still there as we speak. I can’t see how he will be conniving with others to do such a thing.

“He is the Vice Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and if he has any issues with his chairman, he has access to him and he can always take up such issues.

“There is absolutely no true that my governor is involved in any such thing.”

Telephone calls to the media aide of the Katsina State governor, Malam Lawal Matazu, indicated that his telephone set was busy.

He, equally, did not respond to a text message sent to him on the subject.

The source however, said, “The plot by the presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party to deal with Governor Mu’azu Aliyu of Niger State is real, contrary to the tepid denial by presidency that President Jonathan has no hand in the NGF crisis.”

Nigerians, he said, were aware of the crisis “that engulfed the Nigeria Governors Forum as a fallout of the election which produced Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as winner.”

Yet-to-be-verified reports indicated that a group of lobbyists had moved to the Niger State House of Assembly to lobby members of the House to move against the governor as plan ‘B.’

Aliyu was a leading figure among the Pro-Amaechi members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum before the NFG election penultimate Friday.

Buhari faults crackdown on Boko Haram

Presidential candidate for the Congress for Progressive Change in the 2011 Presidential election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has frowned on the emergency rule in parts of the North. He alleged that innocent civilians were being killed in the states.

Buhari speaking during a Liberty FM Hausa Service Programme, Guest of the Week, on Sunday in Kaduna said that Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished unlike the “special treatment” given to the Niger Delta militants by the Federal Government

Buhari, who also blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for failing to tackle the security problems in the country, argued that the challenges started in the Niger Delta.

He said, “What is responsible for the security situation in the country is caused by the activities of Niger Delta militants.

“Every Nigerian that is familiar with happenings knows this. The Niger Delta militants started it all. What happened is that the governors of the Niger Delta at that time wanted to win their elections, so they recruited youths and gave guns and bullets to them to use against their opponents to win elections by force.

“After the elections, they asked the boys to return the guns, and the boys refused to do so. Because of that the allowance that was being given to them by the governors was stopped.”

Buhari said his joining the proposed All Progressives Congress was not all about securing the party presidential ticket for the 2015 elections.

According to him, the formation of the APC and his joining the group is to help effect the needed change in the polity and not just about his presidential ambition.

He declared, “If APC fails to give me the ticket, I will remain in partisan politics and in the party. Anyone the party picks as its candidate, I will support him because I will remain in the APC.”

Besides, Buhari noted that the problem of the country was that of bad leadership, which the APC was out to change.

“I will be the manager of Chelsea, the people there love me” –Mourinho finally confirms

Jose Mourinho has finally broken his silence and confirmed he will return as Chelsea manager by the end of the week.

The 50-year-old, who took charge of his last Real Madrid game on Saturday, told Spanish TV football show, Punto Pelota on Sunday, that he will be in London this week to finalise details of his return to Stamford Bridge

“I’m going to London on Monday and at the end of the week I will be the manager of Chelsea,” Mourinho said. “I feel the people there love me and in life you have to look for that. Life is beautiful and short and you must look for what you think is best for you.”

Tension In Abuja As Security Operatives Continue To Besiege Amigo Supermarket, Wonderland Amusement Park

Security operatives have continued to lay siege on the premises of Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland Amusement Park in Abuja following an alleged link between one of its Lebanese co-owners, Fauzi Fawad, and a terror group.

Last week, officers of Nigeria’s anti-terror agency, the Joint Task Force, recovered a cache of weapons in a depot reportedly owned by a Lebanese businessman. A security source disclosed that three Lebanese men were also arrested after a raid on the depot. The raid was triggered by a tip that there was an underground bunker in the home a Lebanese businessman. Security operatives searched the house as well as other locations in the city.

When our source visited the premises of Wonderland and Supermarket on Sunday, our correspondent saw a team of heavily armed security operatives. A source told us that the guards include Nigerian army personnel, police officers, and agents of the State Security Service (SSS).

The main entrance of the supermarket was sealed off with chains. An inscription on the entrance announced “SEALED OFF”. Several security vehicles were stationed in front of the facility.

Some customers who were not aware of the development were turned back by the operatives as the roads leading to and from the premises were blocked on both ends.

Saintprince International learned that the three Lebanese men arrested by the JTF in connection with the illegal ammunition in Kano had named Mr. Fawad as a mastermind of an illegal importation of ammunition. The detained suspects reportedly named Mr. Fawad as a leader of a Hezbollah cell operating in Nigeria.

Among the weapons recovered from a bunker in the house were anti-tank guns, rocket-propelled grenades, and 300 AK 47 rifles.

As at time of filing this report, Mr. Fawad had not been arrested. A security source said he was on the run.
